Realism without a doubt. This is a very, very minor criticism: To my eye the horses don't blend in completely. I'm wondering if some ground shadow or a bit of "fog" to tone down their colors might not give the last bit of realism needed here. That said, I think if someone had simply handed a copy of your picture to me and said, "Look at this photo" I would have only thought, "Man, a once in a lifetime photo capture" assuming it was reality rather than very skillful artistry.
