Description

Normally when you come across trucks that have been left in a field, you (at least I) can't help but feel sorry for them. They had their lives of running stuff around and trundling up and down little lanes, dropping off things, picking up others and had owners that loved them. And now they sit rusting away in a field somewhere, with nothing more to look forward to other than birds nesting in the engine. But, I saw this guy yesterday and life doesn't seem so bad. Yeah, he's never gonna be pulling loads anymore, but he's sitting under a nice tree in a nice field, over looking the road and passing traffic. There were plenty of other (and I mean plenty) retired vehicles around for company and I can't help looking at his face and seeing a contented smile. Plus of course, I've now made him semi-famous. Maybe it's not so bad to spend your last years sitting in a field.

Great POV. I agree with you I often see old cars and trucks left behind and wonder where they have been and what they have seen. makes you wish you could take them and fix them up so they could have a new life. thank you for sharing this great photo.

early 50' Ford and an excellent capture/story. someone will spot it and buy and restore. it is surprising what people are restoring now. to me some looks like a rusted hulk of metal and memories but to someone with a dream it is a treasure

She looks so shy without the make-up... Hiding behind the tree with a trembling soul inside... This picture is just fantastic!
