Description

Cause I just luuuuuv myself...:) Ahem...anyways. I got this plant from Xfrog and I was actually named after the fruit that grows on it. (Yeah...well, at least they didn't call me Peach or something...) I waited and waited, but no fruit showed up so I figured I'd put it in a scene and see what happens. :) Everything else modeled and textured in C4D, postwork in PS CS. Hope you'll enjoy and have a great day! Take care, Sabra

Hello Sabra!! First of all i want to tell you that i am very surprised from the post and the info you posted :) When i looked at your postwork, thought it was a regular photograph of yours and you added some filters/plugins or effects under your photo program! And ooooh!! It is not! Came up to Cinema 4D?? How super render is that!! Just very impressive work here. Love it and it is really excellent concept!! Very well done Sabra.. Now, about the info you mentioned above, regarding the name of the plant and your name! When i saw some of your comments on my work or others, always wondered! Where is Sabra from? And the reason i didn't ask you, some people just don't like others to know where they are from! Sigh! But now, i am really interested to know where you at or from if you don't mind :) "SABRA'A" or "SABER" are a Midlle-Eastern names, most likly from The Middle East Area, less chances in TURKEY or IRAN (Persian Gulf) Sigh! That above desert plant called: "SABBA'AR" and it is a male name!! "SABBA'ARA" is the plant female name.. "SABER" is the male adjective, and "SABRA" is the female adjective of that noun :) And both means (PATIENT PERSON), and the word (PATIENT) came from that plant since it grown in the desert by its self or like others call it (SATANIC PLANT) it can live with no water/rain for more then 2 or three years.. And the fruits of that plant (with those little seeds) are one of the most sweet ones on earth!! Did you know that! And if some one lost in the desert, he/she can live for monthes by eating those fruits and drinking the water in the needley leafs :D Interesting eh! Anyways and after all.. I like this image and the work you did, wish you a happy Monday Sabra and hope to see more posts :) JOE

Joe, thanks so much for the info on the name. :) I PM-ed you this too, but I don't mind people reading it here too. My father is Palestinian, so that is where the name is from. I don't speak Arabic very well (and I can't write it at all) so it's always interesting to hear this. And YES! I ate them, loads of them. My father always took off the needles, cause they're horrible, and cause infections. :) I think that fruit gave me the sugartooth I still have today. :) Again, thanks (and all of you!) for your reply, it's lovely. Take care, Sabra

Together with the rough textures - some of the edges look very clean . May be you should add some sub-polygon displacement in the materials displacement channel. Consider to use ambient occlusion to add more realism to the edges. Beautiful idea and interesting story about your name. Have a good night.
