Description

For five days and nights the British have pursued Cap'n Gentleman Jack and his ship of less and less merry pirates. They've tried every trick in the business to lose 'em, but the pursuing vessel only gets closer. Here, the first mate is desperately suggesting a spot for which they should try, but, like Gentleman Jack, he knows all is already lost. So does Serafina, Jack's confidant and lover. The look of misery on her face as she gazes on her beloved tells the story. They still have tonight, but tomorrow they'll hang. Only Serafina's cat, Hardtack, seems unperturbed about their situation. ************************************************ Thought I'd join the pirate craze this summer. (grin) Seems like everybody is doing it. Story and picture inspired by the History Channels series on "Real Pirates of the Caribbean" and the fact that I've amassed a pile of pirate clothing with which I've done little. I thought about adding a thing about Serafina being pregnant and not being hung until after she had her baby and the baby being the ancestor of another famous captain, The Next Generation's Jean-Luc Piccard. But I decided not to mention it. (grin again) Historicl point: Most pirates caught by the British were returned to port where they subsequently were tried, found guilty, and hanged. Few were hung from the yardarm of the capturing ship; although, there is a case where the Governor of a Caribbean island was boarded and hung on the yardarm of his own ship by a pirate who the Governor had vowed to see hung. As always thanks for dropping by and a special thanks to all of you who have commented on my earlier works.
