Description

"Rosiness is not a worse windowpane than gloomy grey when viewing the world." ~ Grace Paley

"It is an ancient Mariner, And he stoppeth one of three. 'By thy long grey beard and glittering eye Now wherefore stopp'st thou me?'" ~ Samuel Taylor Coleridge

"I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more grey" ~ from Shawshank Redemption

Ever have one of those grey days? Neither too happy or sad, but a day seemingly bleached of most color and covered in a thin fog? My Mondays are sometimes like that. The whole work week is ahead of me and I'm not inspired to create anything with much "wow" factor. I have a slight cold as well, which probably doesn't help. So here you have a semi-abstract landscape/oceanscape that seems caught in a sort of grey no-mans-land. Not much postwork other than cropping and rotating a little, and the border of course. ----- Thank you for your genetic comments on my last upload, Oceanic DNA.

Interesting shot, Kort, with a profound mood effect. It instantly reminded me of rock stratum, or the image I get when I defragment my hard drive. Kind of day you just want to roll over in bed and cover your head with the blanket.

There is no such thing as a grey day, nor grey sky or sea, nor anything in nature approaching the psychological metaphor. Even starless night sea is alive with light and life....as this image is with depth.

Every Mon. is like that for me....I hate em!! But to be able to sit on this beach and just watch the waves roll in and smell the air, that's enough for me to clean the plate. Relaxing shot here Kort, cheer up buddy we all have those blah days....Aloha!
