Description

So I tried my first drops on Saturday - it was much fun! @ Zacko - I used my 18 - 55mm and zoomed at 55mm. My focusing distance was about 15 - 20cm or so - as close as I could get without wetting my lens and camera. Tx Kai for the tips and pointers. So now it's y'lls turn to tell me how you think I did... Honestly please!

And very pleasing results too! You have several drops in various places suspended in air, very good, congrats!

15-20cm away...with full focal lenght? And still your drops turned out so small??? I thought the closest you could get with that lens was 24cm. Is this a crop or the full photo? It is a nice photo Vera, an awesome first try even. Lots better than my first attempt. But you will never convince me that a macro lens isnt a better choice for these kind of shots though, lol. #;O)

Hee Hee - I don't think I would get the shot right with a macro lens - I would probably miss the drop completely!!! The official focal dist is 20cm but manual focus can do wonders...

i understand wat zacko is sayin regardin d use of a macro lense being d best for dis kind of image, bcause i shot all my drops with a canon 100mm 1:1 macro lense which wud have allow me 2 go even closer to d drops if i wanted to. but anyway congrats on ur first drop, u nailed it. like 2 c some more.

Well Vera!! You did very good as per your first try Ms. But i still don't get it..Just like Zacko said. How come with your lens the EF-S 18-55MM and from that distance, and its still small! :P Humm... If you have a macro lens i guess you can use it. You know what! I don't guess, lol but i know.. In fact it will be much better specially if it was one of those canon with F/2.8 sigh!! Now again.. This is really interesting as per your first, I love the aqua tones and the droplets looks like small perls or jewels :) Yes congratulations Ms Vera and keep them comming.. I bet you will do very good in the new series :) Have a nice day and hope to see you around.. Regards, JOE
