I believe that she could be the driver but must not be ready for a race because of no fire retardant uniform or helmet. excellent capture .I can imagine the roar of the car

Excellent shot! I used to go weekends to Martin Dragway in Michigan in the late 60's and early 70's. Back then, cracking the 200 mph barrier was the big item. I got to walk in the 'pits' and see Shirley 'Cha Cha' Muldowney and then watch her run her Top Fuel Rail Car and beat most the guys. WINK.

She actually is the driver of this dragster. Photo was taken at a local car show, where every hour or so she would fire up the engine of the dragster. The rear wheels were jacked up and not touching the ground. The car was ungodly loud... Her husband is co-owner and mechanic...

Me WANT IT, me WANT IT, BADLY, well the car that is, and the girl, I dont mind, lol. When I was at Moroso in West Palm Beach a few weeks ago, I saw quite a few of those babies (the car that is), and of course a boat load of the ladies, lol. The force with which those cars takes off could plummet your heart to the back of your spine, lol. Spectacular shot, of both of course. If I remember correctly they were giving rides on them babies for 2 large ones. Wish I had it, I would love to drag race in one of em beauties. Owesome shot, sorry for the long comment, but just LOVE Drag Racing.
