Description

This image is a tribute to a novel written by Louis L'Amour, entitled, "The Haunted Mesa". Not at all like the 100 or so westerns he is famous for, it was his last novel before he passed away, and is actually a sci-fi yarn. Quite a departure. However, it is based on Hopi and Navajo mysticism and folklore. The quats seemed to remind me of the strange forms in the pubelo-Anasazi area. So I chose them to add structure to the composition. Hope it brings some interest in these areas. And to all fantasy and sci-fi fans out there, read his novel- you won't be dissapointed. It evens deals with parallel worlds, worm holes in space and time warps in the desert. This the realm of the Quats. Have fun.
