I'm from Norway (that tiny, freezing country on the northern edge of Europe/the World) - where I live in a small town called Molde (on the west coast). I've been running around with an SLR since I was eight (I'm now 40...). My first camera was donated by an uncle that effectively got rid of the backup to the backup of his backup camera... I eventualy went digital when I bought a Canon 20d, which since has been replaced by a Canon 5d MkII. It's all just a hobby, but a hobby that devours quite a lot of my free time. I (almost) exclusively shoot landscapes and macros (as can be seen in my gallery).

Have tried ant's also. Still havn't got one. The little bugger's just won't stand still long enough to find them in the viewer! Not a bad shot at all for that close, and a moving target.

Very fine capture, like a lot the tonal colour.

Cool...Photoshop could enhance this nicely{I know..I know}..I'm thinking the tree bark ...detail is there, though, little buggers are hard to capture!

It can be quite tricky composing macros. Because of the shallow depth you dont need much movement on your camera to lose focus. Thats why i always compose the shot before i manually move in with the focus rather than use the autofocus for instance. Bla bla. This shot is perfectly focus and its also perfectly composed. Amazing how crisp that ant is. Just impressive!!!! Have a great day. #:O)

It's quite amazing that ants don't fall to bits more often. They are so thin in places. Excellent macro.

I can understand why you were satisfied with this. The compo, lighting, and clarity are all dead-on.I tried the same thing once with an ant on a peony blossom...but all the ones that came out with the ant in focus were unsatisfactory in all other aspects. So you have my sincerest congrats on this.Your efforts certainly paid off....Excellent.-M :^)
