Description

I must have been a little bored this morning. I modeled some nuts and bolts using Wings3D. Not to mention the threads actually match. Of course I cheated in a way, I modeled the threads separate and then combined them with the piece that they're part of. Definitely makes the process a lot easier and saves on polys. As for materials, a tiny bit of sandy bump added to Bryce's default pewter mat seems to do things for the render as well. Also, if for some stupid reason anyone might be interested in the meshes - I could make them available as a freebie. Just mention that in the comments.

Nice work. Good to see someone as obsessive about these things as I am :)

Some things are very consensual like the rolloff on the threads and the shoulder radius to the head. Other things one wonders about USS, SAE, Whitworth and the two kinds of metric that preceeded the current metric, not to mention AN. There is that mechanical preoccupation of winding on a nut then taking it off much like Quegg with his ball bearings.
