Description
An image of the Trifid Nebula. It's called Trifid coz its got three lobes to it. Some people call it the Clover Nebula coz its got four lobes to it. Confused yet?
Again it is in the Frenchman's list of 'things wot aren't comets n'est pas' so it is also called Messier M20 (I think).
Either way it is a beautiful birthing ground for new stars, the very bright thing in the middle is actually three new stars very close to each other (been taking too many fertility drugs me thinks).
Taken with an Orion Starshoot CCD camera mounted on an Orion SkyView Pro 8" Newtonian telescope. 20 x 20 second exposures.

I have to chuckle at the humor in your comments as usual, but what blows me away is your photo. Majestic and beautiful.
