Description

I decided to recompose in Poser 6 my last post which was rendered in Daz Studio. I then put them side by side with no post work in PS. I did use the HyperRealV3 Shader by Unimesh in Poser 6. Has anyone seen a similar comparison post? I would really love to see it. You will appreciate the strength and capabilities of both programs if you viewed this in "full view" Your comments are always welcome.

Very interesting comparison! The lighting is awesome by the way, The UniMesh realism kit is a great way to get realistic sub surface scattering without having to hassle with each material. Excellent work!

I think both programs offer great renderings. Then again, I don't have P6 to play with - maybe some day, probably some time after Poser 7 has shipped, given my track record for keeping up with the Joneses. Lights seem to be a bit tricker in D|S to master (well, for me anyway - and lights in general for that matter) and many figures/textures need a bit of tweaking on the surfaces tab to look "just right", even though Studio does a pretty good job if/when left to do it's own bidding. D|S might not have all the bells and whistles that Poser has, but it has more than enough capabilities to hold its own, especially after tossing in some of the plugins. Nice comparison. Here, the Poser render is the better of the two, but spend enough time on it, and you can probably end up with end results that are difficult to pin down as a Poser render or D|S render, just that it's one of the two.

Both are great - it's not the same image though is it - the hair is different and one is more straight on than the other. I prefer the P6 one. Both awesome though.

the d/s on has more of a cartoon feeling to it, poser can get more realism that d/s(i think!!) so i like the p6 one more.

I dont know if this comparison is fair -- is the HyperRealV3 Shader by Unimesh in Poser 6 something that comes with the program? Did you buy it? If, so then a Cost/Benifit comparison would have to go to DAZ Studio after all its free. :) -- thanks for sharing.

I was wondering how the two compaired. I may have to down load daz. I can not get brice to import poser obj's. I wanted to compair that too. I think the daz gave you a more soft look.

Both images are excellent. I have no idea how you pulled that off with DAZ Studio, every time I try using DS it laughs at me and calls me stupid.
