Found this bug in my backyard, I have no idea what kind of bug this is so if anyone knows please tell me. It is about 1.5 inches long, pretty big. Thanks to all for there awsome comment on my previous posts.

Beautiful composition and presentation my friend!! Love all the details of your closeup!! I don't know exactly what is the name of it my friend.. You are correct RedChilicat, It is a Cicada, and acording to National Geographics article on these crearures, they come out of the ground every 17 Years. Very curios looking creature, lots to learn on them. Thanks to all for your interest and help on finding out what this was.

Awesome shot!! Cicada was my guess as well. Their lives are certainly unique. After 17 years they come out and live just long enough to breed and die. Literally "dieing to get some".
