Description
I took this shot at Taronga Zoo in Sydney but this bird was visiting just like us and not caged. I looked on the internet and I believe this bird is called a "Noisy Miner" if any of you Aussies know it by a different name please let me know. Beautiful bird! I had the pleasure of getting very close to some Lesser Goldfinches in my garden. It is such a wonder to see them up close and personal such as this shot. :o) I have a Roger Tory Peterson book, and it helps me to identify the birds that I can see. Excellent capture!

Nosiy Miner is the right name but sometimes called Soldier Bird because they are always in a group and chase off cats and the like as a group, also caled Cheeky Charlie as they are very cheeky and noisy. We have them come around every other morning for some crumbs we live just up from Sydney on the Central Coast about 100km or 60 miles north. Hope you had a good visit over here.
