"Laughin' Jack" Donovan was Captain of the Sea Dragon, the most successful of all the raiding ships that ever sailed out of Barbados. He was a jovial fellow - eaily the jolliest murderin' privateer you'd never want to meet....he'd be smiling and chuckling as he cut off your hand just to get your ring. It's even said that he was laughing as he died, murdered by Tom Truffant for his share of the richest prize they ever captured. While I put no stock in apocryphal tales such as the Legend of Cap'n Jack's Revenge, it IS true that Tom vanished in mysterious circumstances before spending even one gold coin of the booty....
