Description

Hello All! While antique shopping on the bluff on vacation I met this wonderful cowgirl your see in the back ground whose name is Grace ( she also sells antiques, raises /breeds dogs and teaches gymnastics!!) . I talked to Grace for sometime at the antique fair and turned out she knew someone my Mom knew... So when I told Grace my daughter Janel loves horses, she kindly invited us all out to her farm !! The girls got to ride the great white brown speckaled beauty and the shetland pony you see in the back ground. Here, Grace is putting away the reigns ( my girls rode her bare back!) in the farm and going to bring out the others and the promised apple that was the reward for the ride she just gave ther kids . In this shot the beautiful and very friendly white mare is waiting patiently for her apple treat that she was promised- lol she seemed to know it was comming!!. See that red barn under the white mare there? It is full of many 100 year old tractors ,farm equipment / relics as well as haybales with many wild kittens scampering about that are impossible to catch!... I liked this shot for the color and pov under the mare it shows how she is looking back waiting for her apple so hopefully!!... Still waiting for my shots to arrive as my Mom is sending them little by little from her computer... psst I got my new slr here now...but i think it will be a while before I use it . I looked it it for a long while this morn and felt suddenly overwhelmed ... ( OK Don't laugh now ) and somehow... LOL , I felt like I was betraying my other little friend / pocket cam !!! as it has been like permatly attached to me for the last year and a half.... its going to take me a while to get used to or attached the new SLR ...LOL...and infact, I am in no hurry but am excited about having /learning it now!...I still do feel some kind of strange loyalty and love my wide angle little pocket cam -the nikon 7900 that I tool this here pic with hehe... Thank you for your time and comments ! * please view at full size as its best for its viewing effect- thank you !! Love to you all! ((( BIG HUGS !! )) ~ ♥ Kimmers ! :O) !!!

I like how you put this image together, sharp horse and blurred background really focus'es the attention on the foreground...Gorgeous colors in this one...this horse is so patient.... A new cam to boot! Can't wait to see what you can do with an SLR...exciting times are coming...! Aloha~

Kimarie, what a lovely picture! I love your POV, (kind of humoristic as well - excellent) and the fact that you made something happen in the background, which put the beautiful horse into its habitat, so to speak.

What I find interessant very, in addition to the recit of Kimarie, it is its framing. Is its stereotype a beautiful lesson of photography, why? the easy way of the artist was to position under the mean level of the mare, to give him an importance which it obtains, by making so that the buildings appear under the head of the horse. It redimensionne thus the horse by photographically indicating it like the subject of the photograph, and by minimizing all the remainder of the decoration, without removing it. Even if Kimarie adores his/her daughter, she wanted to speak to us about this horse, and its stereotype is a splendid success. I include/understand the hesitations of Kimarie in front of his SLR. Me I have horror of the automatics, I like to play with the speed of film, the setting rate of sight, the opening and the depth of field. I do not know if one can louper a photograph with a SLR, but Kimarie wonders whether its photographs will be always them his... true debate!
