Description

I wasn't sure I should upload this; it's not all that great ... but yet when I saw this little guy sitting on a leaf out back, it was SOOO TINY, and so I went to town shooting him over and over and over; holding my breath over and over again, trying to get as clear as I could. I should have had the tripod with me .. the face of this guy was SOO COOL I thought ... and I guess, just because of that, regardless of the quality of the picture, I thought I'd add him to my gallery. He looks like a little ole grandpa. He sits with those two front legs held up, kinda like a praying mantis .. just a cool looking spidey I think. Gotta love the 'Spoggles' too. ;) Have a great Sunday :) and thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may decide to leave.

Hahahaha...... the more I look at these bugs, the stranger they get. It really is like another world out there. Even with his Groucho Marx face, your spider looks cool. The way he is posed is kinda cool too, great shot!

Tripod! Who needs a tripod?! LOL I never use one. These little siders are very cute but hard to shoot, I have a shot of one that I have been holding off posting. Anyway I think this shot is very cool and unique especially the way its framed! (PS check your yahoo IM I sent you a message)

First off congrats on not running away screaming when you first saw this. I know women who would have screamed their bloody head off at the sight of this guy...even if they saw this image! You hung in there and shot this guy and did a wonderful job here...a tripod would have been nice, but sometimes the moment doesn't last that long and hand held is your only option. I like your framing here also, really makes it look more threatning...Excellent shot of this old man! Aloha!

I also shoot without a tripod (don't own one)....it certainly is possible to get a good shot without one, and you have a really nice shot to prove it. Nature is so wonderful with all it's variety, this is certainly a charming spider.

I love it! The blur adds to the composition in my opinion, and I can see the old bugeyed coot you speak of.
