Thank you all so much for your steady support and all your wonderful comments, they are more appreciated than you know THANKS!!! To jif3d, haha, no it is not just painted over a photo I always do first a sketch and than start to paint the same way as if I would do it traditional. Well doing a portrait digital is much more easy as you have the original photo in one window and paint your portrait in the other window so it is pretty easy to get proportions right. That btw, the reason why I usually dont like it to much to paint from photo reference, I love it much more to construct my figures myself, but doing portraits I have to use photo reference as I have to get the likeness right. But as said I dont like photo reference to much, thats maybe the reason why I love doing fantasy art as there does not exist any photo reference for my monsters and demons ;-), Doing Portraits from a photo and not from a life model is somehow crazy as you do nothing other than to copy a photo that already exists, but oh well if someone wants a portrait it is more comfortable to paint from a photo than to invite him/her to sit model for you :-).
