Ya just can't trust a bloody pirate!
No postwork on this.. had to compress to make the file smaller for uploading though.
I've worked on Capt'n Jack's textures off and on for a while now. Still can't "quite" pull off the look I want but I don't give up easily (LOL)
This is my first render in Vue Infinite, much to learn but it's going to be another adventure :)
Thanks in advance for viewing

I love the textures and the haze and the foliage and the pose of the inquisitive parrot above all. I do feel that the ripples in the sand are a little too solid-looking; the shadows from the ridges are quite a bit stronger than the one the pirate casts (and you have his shadow pretty much spot on, for me). Sorry for nit-picking, because this is a very good V5I render, as well as an amusing and beautifully composed scene.

You may want to change the scaling of the textures in different areas to vary the results. The dunes in the distance would not show the same tidal effect lines as the sand right by the water. Also, it would be a matter of elevation, considering what causes those lines in the first place. Ditto, the rocks. Experiment with that and you'll be amazed what you will discover. Womderful job, however.

A great likeness indeed, wonderfully posed and very good textures, I love the way you have the parrot is pearing into the chest, a great feeling of pirate romance to this one.

I think your character is very close to the real Capt. Jack. he's totally recognizable here and I love the setting you put him in. Well done!

Wonderful first render in Vue - looking forward to more! Great image of Cap'N Jack - even if you're not satisfied with it, it's still very well done. I agree with FrenchKiss - you recognize him immediately, which is the hard part - well done!
