Description
"And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant,......worship God." Revelations 22:8 & 9, KJV.

What a wonderful quote about worshipping the creator. This is a great religious type pic. Guess it downplays the sinful pics we normally see here. Not to say I am a religious man, just say'n that you are bold to post such a pic. We shall see if you get any religious comments later :-) Good job!

Good words to think about and a great image to go with them (was this the one that we counted renders on?)

This image almost made me cry my friend! I don't want to give anyone the wrong impression - fantasy art is truly beautiful, and a wonderful way in which all the very skilled artists of Renderosity can both express graphically, and feel goodness, peace, serenity, and great beauty. Neither am I in any way against the rendering of angelic representations of our Creator's numerous marvels, but often simply because of a lack of understanding, many begin paying too much attention to the things created rather than the One who created them. This image shows that your heart is in the right place, and you herein depict the true meaning behind angels and human association. Of course, it doesn't mean you should not continue to enjoy making your most wonderful imagery of such heavenly spirit creatures - and I will indeed look forward to every new one you render and share with us. Beautiful work my friend, and I hope that others will appreciate your skill and quality.

Time to give out a piece of my mind. Angels don't have wings. In the quotation you have given, you left out significant words: " Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God." (Revelation 22:9) Angels are people who have died, and come back from the dead on a mission from God. Nowhere do we read of any wings. You can put 'em on there, but they are just a medieval interpolation, we could look at them as a symbol of their ability to travel thru the heavens. It might be good to put wings but perhaps make them transparent, almost invisible.

Nice job. BTW Angels are spirits created by God to minister to Him. They are not dead people. But wings -- guess we won't know for sure how they might reveal themselves unless we see one ourself. Since they actually don't have physical bodies they could reveal themselves to us in a lot of different ways. So I don't have a problem with wings myself. Keep up the good work.

WONDERFUL pic! All those late nights were worth it. As for leaving out the whole verse, well, I know what those little dots mean! I'm in total agreement with jimfox, and am looking forward to meeting God and the whole gang. After this wonderful piece of work, I think you deserve a good night's rest. ;)

oh, good, someone already covered the fact that ellipses (the little dots) are to alert the reader that words have been left out of a quote. As to angels and wings, in the Bible angels are described as having AND not having wings and some are even described as having 4 wings (2 pair). Most instances where angels are described as having wings, they are in a guardian role. When I create images for a church or a group educated in this fact, I leave the wings off. When I create a picture for the general population I simplify things for everyone's understanding by placing the wings on them. What IS never described in the Bible is angels having halos and that is why none of my pictures depict them as having such. AND Lucifer and 1/3 of the angels rebelled against God before Adam and Eve were even created (or approximately at the same time, it is not fully clear in the scriptures) making it difficult (at least for all the angels that existed then) for them to have been dead people.
