Description
I'm posting our kitty Aggie's picture to pay her a tribute and share her story. After everything she's been through, she deserves it. She's 8 years old or so now. The last three years we'd seen her health decline slowly. We took her to vets, nuerologists, pet massagers. No one had an answer for us. No one could explain why she was losing muscle slowly, but inexorably. Two months ago, she seemed like she was going down fast. She went from 9 to 6 lbs. My husband and I decided to take her to the vet and end her pain. The vet asked us to give her one last run of tests and reluctantly we agreed. We thought it would just prolong her suffering. Imagine our suprise when the vet came back with a very simple diagnosis. Aggie was diabetic. The cost and commitment of treatment was daunting at first, two shots a day and special food, watching anxiously for signs of a hypoglycemic episode. But we weren't ready to give up on her yet and we thought she must have at least 6 lives left. Just 3 weeks plus into treatment, she's likely gained over a pound of weight. She's running around again and driving us crazy, just like she used to. The house once again rings with the cry: "Aggie! Get out of there!" but now it's most often said with a smile and the knowledge that she's fighting just as hard as we are. So as you look at her face, remember, never give up hope.

That is a wonderful story, and we wish the best for Aggie. What a trooper! I have had cats who were ill, and they did put up a fight. We were so blessed to have them all. Now, I have two brothers, one 2 years old, and the other one just turned 1, and they are very healthy and mischievous. :o)

No one knows what a change in my personality came about since our first of 2 bottle baby's and since then I have found something that I can only define as "Their Eye's", I get some what upset at times when I think about the why's and what's about my new found friends. I have read so many of the sad stories of many of Rendo's members with the little beggers and I get emotional as I look in THE EYE's of my feline trouble makers and I see a soul of someone who has taken me into their care and has welcomed me with no thought as to whom I used to be. My wife being a Vet these 17 yrs has been a trying moment too many times when she started to bring home the helpless and sick, it got to me and knocked me down a few pegs, now I cry when I read something like this cause there is not enough I can do for my new friends. I hope and pray aggie will come along for you.
