Okay....here we go again. Sorry, but some major no-nos.... First: you have rendered ALL the sails and flags at once. The original modeller made 2 sets of sails (furled and unfurled) to configure them to different weather and sailing conditions. They were not meant to be rendered all together. Also, the flags, one flag per mast. (and usually only flown in port, in battle, or if another ship was spotted on the horizon, bent on for identification) Second: the ship is WAY to low in the water, the lowest gunports are underwater, in reality flooding and sinking the ship(this occured in 1782 when the HMS Royal George sank with 800 souls aboard because she had all her ports open and heeled over in the wind. Also the Swedish flagship, the Vasa for the same reason) Third: the gunports would normally have been closed, open only in port for ventilation of the lower decks, or in preparation for battle. The lower ports were almost never opened during sailing, except going into battle. Fourth: a ship usually only set all sails, including the outer studdingsails (st'un's'l's)in this render in very light winds, to try to cokes more speed out of the ship. Fifth: if all sails were set as in this posting, then the water as shown would not be as active. The ship would be not be moving, or moving VERY slowly. In this render, with all these sails set, the ship would be creating a noticable bow and stern wake. Suggestion, go to: www.scrimshawgallery.com/Paintings and Prints section, and view the artwork of Geoff Hunt, Geoffery Huband, Charles Vickery, etc, who paint this ship and others of this period as accurately/realistically as possible, doing a LOT of research for their work, to get some good ideas for this model....oh, also try a 3D ship artist's site: www.age-of-sail.com...

moreover the waves and ripples on the water seem to be aout of scale for the ship - it looks as a model and not a real man-of-war
