Description

Er, well, this is isn't one of those where people say 'it's my first attempt at [insert application here]' and produce a masterpiece... But it is my first post of anything with any real amount of actual painting in it - after a lot of private practise, swearing, reading some very kind peoples tutorials and more swearing :) Constructive comments are definately welcome! Actually, they're the main reason I'm posting this, so roll your sleeves up and tell me (nicely ;) what you think could be done to improve the image. Many thanks to all who have left a wealth of information up on Renderosities tutorial sites, and also to Shanpoo, 9841007, Evinrude and Star4mation (to name but a few) for giving me continued inspiration, and in Star4mations case, plenty of stick... ;) Credits: Base: V3 & Orca Maps from Daz Lumpy landscape bits created in Bryce Lantern freebie by Andi3d (he's got some great stuff on his main site, so go check it out) Staff is part of the As Shanim Hanyama set Embroidery is from Designfera's Embroidered Accents 5 range. A particular thanks (not that he'll be reading this but hey) to Bruce Parry as I've been glued to the 'Blizzard, Race to the Pole' series. Any bloke who can drink that much husky crap in a mug of lukewarm tea and still keep smiling is legend in my books - and he managed to look strangely attractive under a ginger beard. (And before anybody says anything, yes I know you'd never wear a coat with that many fiddly metal buttons in that sort of environment...or with that much embroidery to get wet, and yes, you'd need gloves and face protection... I claim artistic licence! :)

WOW! What a first image. All that swearing was worth it. The result is breathtaking and original. Congratulations. My only critisim would be maybe the size of the Orca's ..they look quite close but seem small.

I think you did a dang good job with this one girly! I love your Northern Lights, and that hot spot on her pants created by the light! I love the swirling motion of the snow/rain, I also like your mist at the bottom of the mountain. I love her confident pose, and determined stare like she knows she going to have a successful hunt tonight. I like all the little details in this one, very lovely indeed!

Cool (no pun intended). Nice work on the Aurora Borealis. Mysterious, with an original theme. Good show!
