Ok, yes, I know there are a ton of technical flaws in this picture. However, it was the only pic that was good of the 30 I took of the rattler. It's amazing how loud these little bastards can be in the silence of the woods. Talking about jumping out of your skin. THUS, the reason for the "shakey" exposure of this shot. I couldn't resist posting it. It was one of those rare occurences that happen, and fortunately, he made his presence well known. It was also very educational for me, because next time, I'll learn to keep my nerve and a steadier camera.
Oh yeah, I did creep up on him about 7 feet a way. I probably got closer than I should have. What the hell, you only live once right??
No technical notes or title on the pic. It didn't deserve the credit to do so. This one is just a fun pic to post.

You did better than I could have. As a matter o fact the snake would have wanted a shot of me acting like a little girl screaming, and I'm a 46yr old man lol. I would have had 30 shots and 29 of them over my shoulder and the last one of my feet where I jumped from the sight of it. We will forgive you for him not reponding and posing for us, but don't go closer for us now. And as for "you only live once", that can be a argument for either side if you think about it. A reason to try and get the shot, AND a reason to avoid the snake. I think it to be fine as is and thanks for posting it.
