Description

This tiny Church dates back to the 1820's. Services are still held here on special occasions. I think the interior is austere, yet very beautiful nontheless. I adore Church architecture. David an I often go for a wander in the old Church yard, it is very peaceful. The Church is open to members of the public three days a week in Summertime. The Church is lovingly maintained by a fund that relies upon charitable donations. The collage hanging from the balcony was created by the children of our village school. Yesitis3, Richard this is the same Church you have in your favorites, I very much wanted you to see the inside too. Blessed Be. Diane.

It is an adorable place and I suppose has a distinct mood when inside. These old places make me want to linger and I hear the voices of the past... OK I get carried away, LOL!

@marybelgium it is a Anglican church. We have what is called "Churches Together" here in Bay. Many services are for all denominations. I think this is a good thing.. Thank you all. I am very pleased with this shot, I do not say this often. Di.

Beautiful shot Di! This church is so simple compared to ours, I'm atheist, but I think that if I wanted to meditate I'd prefer this austere place to be more concentrate. Have awonderful evening!!! Big hugs

I think you are right, this is one of your best shots. I love the warm glow of the light from the windows lighting the whole room. It gives that feeling of God's presence glowing there. Well done. Now, why aren't you in the castle? :-) (for others reading - she knows what I'm talking about)

I think its an Anglican church. It looks so different for us in France (most of the churchs are Catholic). Very interesting.

@yesitis3, Richard. The doors to the pews are all numbered. They are family pews. A family would pay on a yearly basis for a pew, where they could all sit together. A strange custom, but they actually paid!!!!
