Description
Interesting view of the complex fold pattern of plumage when not in flight.
I now get word that this is atypical of the species and not to be taken as the norm.

It certainly is an interesting picture, but, for the record, that's a Mallard Duck, not a Canada Goose.

Not typical feather pattern in rest. Usually they are much like you see them when they swim. It was probably spreading feathers to dry or sun them. Great capture.

That is a cool pattern indeed. It almost looks like its wings are way too big for its body. It also looks like its trying to decide wheter it should jump into that dirty water or not, lol. #:o)
