Description

Forging New Links . . . That is what life is all about. While preparing a image to illustrate my PovRay code to create bike chain via constructive solid geometry techniques (Booleans to you Bryce users) this showed up. It is a mistake having excess light, but it sort of looks like the chain links are being forged at the "hot stop". Sometimes we are forged by difficult times and hopefully become better people as a result. The code for several PovRay items can be found at my new web "3D Fusion" site: mcv001.googlepages.com/home Once debugged and properly illustrated, this code should be added there too. Comments welcome, but prehaps they sould be about any thoughts or feelings these comments have stirred up, and not the obvious flaws in this image. Your choice of course . . . mcv

Interesting thoughts, and how easily a "mistake" can bring en-light-enment ;) (Is there ever too much light?) I most certainly agree that difficult times can forge our character, make us better (or worse) depending on how we handle them. That said, I see this a bit differently - I see this more as a forging of friendships. The chain links coming together at a specific meeting place, seemingly by chance, perhaps even due to an error, people meet and end up forging friendships. And sometimes those friendships forged can help one who would otherwise fall without the support. Look at the links - two of them are upright, but the third is leaning, seemingly being held up, or lifted up by the two others. Isn't that what friendship is about? Not only sharing the good times, as the two upright links show, but being there to lift up those who need lifting. I really love this, Mike, and will be adding it to my favorites, because it shows that even mistakes can tell a story - but we have to be willing to look at them to learn.

Awesome Mike!!! I have a friend who uses Moray for modeling and Povray for rendering, with superb results, but boy the render times are like forever!!!

Great model, Mike! It's detailed and well posed! Light is okay, for me: as u said, it gives a "hot" idea ^_^ Awesome!!

Great effect you've captured here, even if it was by accident! Very unique and daring art none the less!

Hello and thanks for the good thought for my nephews cancer :) First trip to your gallery and I spied this interesting piece. I like the extra light because it makes it look a bit abstract and the simplicity is appealing. Congrats on being able to model and understanding POVray, lol ;)

Love the concept of this one. You have a great flair for taking the simplest ideas and making it art. What a great talent you have!!....Shannon ;}
