Description

I showed you this swamp about a month ago and it had some water in it and what I thought was a growth on top the water. I was wrong ;it is mud. That what you see mud and ground to walk on, little water. I do not watch the news on tv much but I did not hear of the world wide drought that is going on. On the net you see photos of the Amazon river is drying up and there a lot of boats on dry land now. I know the rain forests is new on the world time table. So I do not think it the cutting down of the rain forests that is doing this. It have to be a bigger picture. What you see is a big mud swamp now between Lafayette and Baton Rounge, Louisiana. It used to have water and you can go boating and fishing too. Thanks for looking and comments too even the ones that say it goble warming. I believe in the scietests that blame the Sun for the warming of the earth. ps I had it on the wrong setting on the lighting . I had it on indoor lights lol hope I got the color better

Excellent shot Jock ... this doesn't bode too well for the local wildlife, I'm sure. Thanks for posting this.

Love this shot, Jocko! I remember your last swamp picture, I really enjoyed that and the accompanying story. :) It's mind boggling to realize that I'm looking at a huge expanse of mud... my goodness! Thanks again for the photo!

Excellent and testimonial picture Jock...!!! If we don't take care of the earth that is the only thing that we have, in few years it will finish all form of life inexorably, including us.

@ 2Loose2Trek Things don't bode too well for humans either if it continues. Nice follow up Jock. I think you see more than others.

The tv may not always help you out jocko. I recently watched a 60 minutes episode, that had a segment on how the white house censors scientific reports as to not alarm us citizens. This kind of stuff doesn't always get out on the airwaves I'm sure! Thanks for clueing us in jocko!

that would be 388800 arce of land a day or is I right that 607 square miles a day lol yesitis3 what can I say Texas is 163696 sqare miles so it would take 27 days to cut down a forest the size of Texas. I not that good in math but please do the math I could be wroung here. But look like the news paper made a error on it math to me

Look, it's just like hurricanes. The solution is so simple: elect the right people to Congress and they will pass a law against this sort of thing ever happening again. I mean these fellas already bring the sun up every day. WHY AREN'T DROUGHTS AGAINST FEDERAL LAW, tell me that. Send in the FBI, and have all these meteorologists arrested. And if that doesn't work SEND THE MARINES and bomb the living daylights out of them! No one screws with the good old US of A and gets away with it!

This image scares me if its a result of global warming. I've been in enough heat to tell you its hot. This is a very interesting capture. Excellent capture my friend. Aloha

I got to think with all that mud, this place must stink! Cool pic Jock! It would not take much from each of us to cut back on our energy consumption, which in turn would have a substantial reversal to the Global Warming issue.

Still, chopping down the rainfirest Does have an effect on the atmosphere, as well as the weather. But just think how this swamp looked a year ago. Certainly not dry! Great shot Jock!

The geological record shows cycles of global warming/cooling which predate the advent of homo sapiens and our recent industrialization by millions, if not billions of years. Sure, deforestation in the Amazon rain forest may be a factor, but so is volcanic eruption, which can spew far more poisonous matter into the atmosphere than all the factories and internal combustion engines combined. The conspiracy theorists and the tree-huggers would have you believe otherwise, but the rocks don't lie: visit Pompeii sometime...
