Description
I wasn't sure if I should post this photo as it is far from perfect, it isn't as sharp or as in focus as it should be and the depth of field should be deeper, but the subject is interesting and quite small and I only had a large flash on hand (I was shooting something else when I noticed the insect and I only got three frames out)...
The larger of the two insects is no bigger than a fruit fly (no exaggeration!), so you can immagine how tiny its prey is. That's to prove there's always someone smaller, or bigger, out there!
Nikon D70, Sigma 105mm Macro, f/8 at 1/60s w/flash.
Thanks for looking, Dan

Eh...arent you being a bit hard on yourself? Id say this is one impressive macro, especially considering how tiny your subjects are. sure the focus could have been more on its eyes than its legs, but to say it isnt sharp enough....well i disagree. And i also disagree about the DOF, lol. I think its just great! So...to sum up this ramble. Im glad you decided to post it. #:o)

Well thanks Zacko and kimariehere, but you know how you always try to get the perfect shot... I agree with the focus on the eyes, I wish the critter had stuck around a bit longer so I could have gotten my tripod which was 12 feet away, but hey I admit I'm just glad I got a picture of something I would never had thought as a predator judging by it's size... Switching to Italian...

The focus plane might not be perfectly placed - but it's still a very good shot. Its tiny prey is what makes it stand out. Very nice work!
