NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!! I hate that!! My iPod died 3 weeks after the extended warranty expired....I changed the battery myself, but I could have had a new one! I am sorry to hear this....that stinks!! Sigh Well the image is gorgeous!! Hope you can afford to fix it...

dear Rozanne, look at this as an opportunity... you can now spend lots of time looking around catalogues, dpreview.com, shops deciding what new camera to buy :-)) Will you go for a DSLR and you can then spend outrageous sums upgrading your lenses? You could even buy the upcoming Leica M8 (we guess that the camera alone will cost Euro6'000+ and lenses cost E1'000+) Enjoy your second mortgage :-))

Gorgeous pink tones. Sorry about your camera... I suspect they've got a bunch of highly paid engineers whose job it is to make sure their cameras last beyond the warranty period, but with the closest margin possible...
