Description

Female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird I've been trying "FOREVER" to get a good shot of a hummingbird (they really give me plenty of opportunity)! With the overcast skies lately it's been tough so I'll blame it on that, LOL I've got several around here but there's one certain male that has laid claim to this feeder and he's quite the little defender. So fun to watch as he "dive bombs" any other males who try to approach. Sooo, still tryin' here. Thanks everyone for looking and any pointers will be Greatly appreciated! First off this is about as good as I could hope for. I have the same situation and even looks like the same bird. I once saw it practically carry a Butterfly out of the fenced yard from it's feeder it claimed. Territorial is an understatement lol. Excellent !!!!

I'd have to say this is a pretty damn near a perfect picture of a hummingbird! Beautifully composed, an all around excellent capture! It's going straight to my screen saver!
