It is an interesting shot. I guess whoever built it must be a photographer. That way he knew he'd always have a castle ruin he could take pictues of. :)

Yes, new construction to resemble old ruins were sometimes done to 'improve the view' from the main house. Some of these also had functional sections. This is definitely an interesting specimen. Super find and capture.
