Description

Thanks everyone for taking a look at this latest effort. Please feel free to leave any remarks you like. Question: Which movie is this scene taken from? This is another experimental Poser effort on my part. It is something of a follow up to Light, Water and Skies, though less abstract. This piece continues with the techniques which I used in the previous work but this time I managed to add a shore line, billowy clouds and atmospheric haze. This is a project which, if I started it again, would have handled rather differenlty as its complextiy greatly challenged me and the processing power of my computer. This is actually three projects merged into one. The ringed giant in the background was developed first and separately. The sea and shore line were created next with James, the lone human, standing on the beach. Then the monster clouds were developed and saved as a special prop for ready duplication within this scene. These elements were then compiled with atmospheric effects to create the final rendering. GIMP 2.2 has also been useful in pre-production. A special thanks goes to the following for their free contributions. Wolfie at www.wolfiesden.com for the Moon/Planet prop and textures.

Just the composition of this image leaves me baffeled..... all the different renders, then...the "put together". Magnificant. An extremely Sureal and beautiful render. I love the beach sand!! Very, very cool.

I want to say Mission to Mars, but I do not remember the items in the background. Anyway, great work!

I don't know either but I love this!!! The background is excellent and begs for more story. The lone figure feels so sad. Bravo!!

Isoline got it! The movie is indeed "The Quiet Earth". It is a New Zealand film made in 1985. My render is a depiction of the final scene.

Looks like I'm too late. You've got the title already. As a Kiwi I should know :) As soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew what you were working on. It's a terrific effort. Worthy of a 5 methinks.

"The Quiet Earth", man, that seems centuries ago I saw this. I will have a look in the net! By the way, very imaginative and creative as your artwork usually is!

Great job on the image, I immediately knew which movie it was. Unfortunately I've been trying to find the title to this movie for quite a while. Whenever I describe this movie to folks they just give me a strange look. Cardboard people... dimensional travel... guy dressing up like a woman. Yeah they just think I'm making this stuff up. Thanks for the help, now I just have to find the movie. :-)
