Description
This startedby being modelled in Maya and was originally rendered in Electric Image Animation System. I then re rendered in Cinema 4D to test the shaded wire rendering
It is one of the leading characters in a story called The Mantis And The Moon. A traditional story as told by teh Bushmen of the Kalahari. The San people.
Well if you look at a real Mantis, the wings do indeed seem out of proportion. In this case Its a part of the character. In the story the Mantis tries to capture the moon and because of it short wings he has to resort to other means to trap the moon. The Mantis thinks he is a God. Its a part of the mythology of the Bushmen. The Mantis plays a large part in the creation myth according to the Bushmen(San People). You have to remember that this Mantis lived after the fall of the Great Lizards(dinosaurs)but long before the Dawn of Man. So the world and its occupants would be different.
Thanks
