Description

"The tepidarium in the Roman thermae was the great central hall round which all the other halls were grouped, and which gave the key to the plans of the thermae. It was probably the hall where the bathers first assembled prior to passing through the various hot baths (Caldaria) or taking the cold bath (Frigidarium) The tepidarium was decorated with the richest marbles and mosaics and would seem to have been the hall in which the finest treasures of art were placed." I promised you to try again that bath-scene of mine... so take a look now. It's made from different approach and I also tried to catch a little different mood because I have lost the original br5-file and didn't wanted to mimic that previous image. Many thanks to free stuff that can be found here at renderosity. Thanks for looking and please be free to comment!

You do this type of image justice... I feel as if I'm glimpsing back in time at an ancient scene. I really like the design of this room: the graven textures above the doorway, the patterns on the ceiling, the columns. I wish only that the carved textures around the doorway were a little clearer, but maybe the brightness of the light makes that impossible. The water is lovely, very nice material, those gentle ripples. What a beautiful scene. If I could do something like this in Bryce, I would still be using it. lol :P

Very nice work. Love the atmosphere. The numerous baths of Roman were infact quite exquisite like the Baths of Caracalla. Filled with statues, mosaics and other works of art. It was a social center free for all citizens. You captured it well.
