Description

Hi Everyone, Was out hanging the washing on the line when a bird decided to grace me with his/her presence. So ran inside and grabbed my camera and 100-400mm lens and the bird still remained on my roof. Mother nature is so wonderful. Please view full size. Chris:)

Beautiful bird. It takes a rare combination of luck and skill to get a shot like this, and you seem to have plenty of both. Well done!

Awesome shot Chris. Love to see such beauty still running wild. You are so lucky to live in Australia (a bird paradise). The shot captured the bird in a great pose. Do you think he knew he was being photographed? This going to favorites. :^)

It's a good thing he was patient enogh to wait while you got your camera. I like the pose - it looks like you caught him just as he was bending his neck to scratch his chin. Excellent crisp and detailed capture!

What huge claws you have, grandma! Wonderful 100-400mm lens capture of, I don't know, perhaps a kookaburra bird? The shot might make a great logo for some company, or even an avatar. You appear to have the same good luck as Kimariehere in encounters with the wonders of nature. Just superb!

He's not scratching his chin...if a bird has a chin...he is waving "Ga Day" to you. Excellent shot and detail. A must see in full size.
