Description

Greetings friends, Sadly, this will be my last image posting for a while. Perhaps not my best work to date, but it does have some significance. I placed it under the genre of "Home" because this ship will, in fact, be my home for next 5 months :-) Prior to my joining Renderosity last December I spent 10 years working on ships similar to this one as a theater lighting designer. It was during this period that I was introduced to 3D animation and computer graphics, which eventually led me to Terragen and this fine web community. Now, after several months of TRYING to live on land again, I have decided to accept a position onboard this ship, the Dawn Princess, as Production Manager. I'll be joining the ship at the end of this week and spend the next few months sailing up and down the Mexican west coast. As great as all of this sounds, I unfortunately will not be able to continue working with Terragen until I decide to buy the worlds most powerful laptop computer...something with about a million Gig of RAM. I will be taking my copies of Terragen and World Machine with me on CD just in case there is a spare computer onboard that I can use for this purpose...but I'm not counting on it. You won't be rid of me that easily though...I will have the internet pretty much everywhere we go, so I'll be checking in when I can to comment on all your work and see what everyone is up to. I've made some great friends here and I do plan to stay in touch. At least now, with the internet, everyone is always just a keyboard away. Oh, and by the way...my lighting control board...is called a "Wholehog" ;-) Bon Voyage! Pete

Great shot Peter! Looks kinda like Cabo's harbor. Let me know when you cruise by. Maybe we can find some time to get together. AeilenWare has a laptop with the new core 2 processor in it and 4 gigs of ram for a decient price. Looks like you don't have to worry about room and board for awhile, just space! I hope to hear from you.

Wow, love the pic. You know I'm gonna' miss ya'. But I think its your calling. I know I could never live anywhere but out in the middle of the desert. The other day, I think I found Moses' sandal... Lol. Take good care, my friend. You will be in my prayers & I'll be waiting to hear from you. Bon voyage, Pete! ")

Have a great time at your new job, Peter and good luck - you will be sorely missed here! Take care, and try not to think of us too much. While you're aboard a luxurious cruise ship. With beautiful bikini-clad women running about. Sailing along an exotic coastline. Take me with you...

That's some "home". Not a landlubber, then? Took me a while to settle after I left the merch. Perhaps you will post again when you come home on leave. Anyway, excellent parting shot, and "Bon Voyage mate".

WOW... I'm pea green with envy for the wonderful journey you will have ... you'll be able to capture some magnificent sunsets, glorious sunrises and hmmmm you can integrate them into your tg work. Seriously though what a lovely going away picture. I wish you the very best Pete... smooth seas and clear skies...

Its simple and so eye-catching! The PW too is XLT!!! and bon voyage dear friend. May ur dream of the most powerful laptop, wth 1 gig RAM and a high end graphic card wth dedicated 512 Mb of VRAM, wth a 17" widescreen... come true. But old habits will die hard and a leopard never changes its spots so I m sure u'd still find some time to do some terraengineering there.
