Description

Thank you for all your comments and visits to the quarantined lioness cub. I will post another follow up soon, hopefully she will be free again by then.thumb_1278785.jpg

I took these photographs of the moon with no specialized equipment and I am aware that the consistency is poor. I enjoyed recording the partial lunar eclipse though. Most of the major landscape features should be recognizable.

Spring is in the air in South Africa and it it feels good to get in sync with nature and its cycles. I hope you enjoy the display as I did.

Very interesting shots, here in North America and Canada we wont see this. I'm thinking it's only visible from Africa, Australia, and parts of the Orient. A superb record of the events and a good presentation!!

Great sequence of shots there, Piet, especially since you didn't use any auxiliary equipment. Fascinating sphere. Did you know the moon is very slowly creeping away from the earth, somewhere around 1.5 inches per year?

Very nice sequence. I did some shots of our moon 3 nights ago and was thrilled with the results. You've done a great job with an entire sequence and every one of them is excellent.

they are outstanding. I had a large heavy duty tripod and I traded it for a monopod because it was always in the way. one night I tried to capture the moon and not possible with my light duty tripods. after the fact I could kick myself

That's a so good idea Piet !!! I've always been passioned by eclips and all natural events as this one. And it's always very difficult to made some good shots as these one. I can't explain why, and I don't know if you feel the same feeling, but each time I see an eclips, that really touched my heart, and give me a particular energy I felt in all my body and my mind. There's another thing very interesting, in particular with the birds, how they change their attitud during an eclips, sometimes they go to sleep (seagull in particular...). It's very strange. We have so many things to learn about Mother Nature... Thank you for these superb shots my friend, and have a wonderful week-end. Hugs

Very well planned and realized photograph. This sequence is beautifully presenting the stages of the Moon slipping into the shadows of the Earth. I like the variations of the clolours and brightness of the Moon. I do believe it was very relaxing experience to watch and photograph this special celestial event.....Thank you, Piet for sharing this beauty with us.

An excellent series of shots to show the partial eclipse. I certainly can recognise the features and see the path the shadow has taken across the surface. Super work !
