Description
Imagine if you will, a bloodred stem rose and leaves lying upon a beach with one set of footprints heading towards the spent surf gently flowing over the sands. The back ground a calm millpond like misty coloured sea caped with a soft golden sunset.
Discarded
Discarded now upon silver sands
blood red rose begins to fade.
Once held in lovers' hands
perfume lost within a wave.
Footprints now lost forever
on this lonely tidal shore
likened to the souls they carried
now gone, to be seen never more.
Sunsets soft and golden rays
to the heartbroken were inviting
beckoned lover to the waves
heart and soul now lost and dying.

Sammy I have just such a picture, the only thing missing is the foot steps. Do you know the song My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean? This poem reminds me of that song. Soft, sad and lilting. Imagery of the waves reaching out like arms to take in and craddle the broken heart. Beautiful Sammy....simply beautiful. ~Michelle~
