Description

Shot taken up at Raw Pasture here in Bay. Many ships wheels are to be found in all sort of places! I love them, being the daughter of a sailor. I often wonder what the little ship was like whose wheel this once was.. Today a little poem to go with my shot. "God keep our Son's and Husbands and bring them safely home! Was the prayer that wives and Mother's sent O'er the Ocean Foam." by Anon. Have a happy, happy day. Thank you for looking and for treasured comments. Diane.

Your picture captures the imagination. Oh what stories this Wheel could tell of storms and ports. Another wonderful photograph Di:0)

Fantastic capture of the light and shadow contrast. And a wonderful poem to fit so perfectly. I say, that fellow Anon was a very prolific poet and author, hey? ;-)

Ah, once connected with the sea you'll never lose that connection! Lovely capture, the wheel is a clear symbol of that connection and the poem expresses so well how this connection is felt! Terrific work, Diane!

Born in a fishing town, I understand your poem and thoughts for those that fish out to sea. Dana
