Description

Photography + Photofiltre studio Still Etretat (Normandie, 220 km west Paris) Some of you found that the cliffs looked fragile, and they are indeed. They crumble away, and it's forbidden to approach the edge, or to walk underneath. Cliffs are eroded by the sea at the bottom (over 50 cm by year), and then the top become fragile, and because of the frost and rain, it crumbles.(it is limestone) These fantastic natural sculpture will disappear one day. I choosed this pic today, because you can clearly see the erosion of the rock. Thanks for your comments on Etretat 3: thumb_1288852.jpg Have a great new week!!! Hugs. Loloe.

Superbe point de vue... mais pour une fois, je n'aime pas trop le cadre que je trouve trop "envahissant", qui occupe trop de place par rapport la photo et qui "l'enferme".... juste mon avis ! Bonne soir et zibous, Laurence :~)

I can imagine the allied soldiers scaling the cliffs during WWII. I have known a couple of men that was there and scaled the cliffs while under fire from the Nazi.another one was responsible for piloting the landing craft. excellent capture

Was just going to ask you if anyone climbs this arch. We had something similar to this but no where as large as this cliff. It eventually crumbled down from an earthquake. This image is just beautiful and hope it last forever. Aloha

Fantastic image! It would be pretty neat if you shot the same angle of the cliffs a few years from now and compare how much the cliffs have changed in shape from this photo. :)
