Description

"Great joys make us love the world. Great sadnesses make us understand the world." ~ Kent Nerburn "Life itself is but the shadow of death, and souls departed but the shadows of the living." ~ Thomas Browne "Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you." ~ Charlotte Whitton

Five years have passed since the events of 9/11 yet the shadows cast on that day still draw dark scars across many hearts. Our world has changed a lot in those five years. People around the world felt the fall of the Twin Towers, not just Americans. I hope some of you take some time today to reflect on how your own lives were impacted. ----- Thank you for your prickly comments on my last upload, Star Moss. My comments disappeared at one point but are back now.

They sure are still there... And even though you get the feeling the tv-stations must have shown everything about it by now, it still gives me the shivers every time I watch another documentary...

Great imagery and message, Kort. Life goes on, but the living owe a debt to the Fallen, a debt of rememberance. @Professor Hoppy: That's a must-read, all right. Should be taught to kids as soon as they can learn to reason (or listen to reason?). "There is one safeguard known generally to the wise, which is an advantage and security to all, but especially to democracies as against despots. What is it? Distrust." Demosthenes, 344 BC

Excellent shadow work but my favorite part of this is the introduction of the greenery into the image. I like how it's only on the right side. Excellent compo!
