Description

I have been doing a little more black and white lately, this was taken in Valley of Fire in Nevada and when I took the photo I had it planned as a B/W. I would love to hear some suggestions. Thanks, Andres

Gorgeous compo, a very classic one as well. I think its the first time i see it in B&W though. And i like it!!! Maybe it could use just a bit of brightness though. Just my humble opinion of course. Excellent job! Have a great day. #:o)

Very original to have choise the black and white, and a very lovely composition. Maybe a little bit too dark in the superior part, but there is a light very interesting in this dark shot. What an incredible place !

Thanks for your input guys! I need to profile my monitor with my printer and the Net because is a brand new Nec that is super bright and it sees through the shadows, maybe some of the latitude I see on my monitor translates to solid black on most people's monitors. Thanks again, Andres

I am not sure how the original looked or how much postwork was needed..either way you really have a fine one here. Exposure in such extreme conditions of light is difficult indeed and a choice is made between shadow and highlight. Your choice and work show enough of each...this is excellent in my thought.

I would add a few specks of white on the front. If you accept some photoshop work tat is. It's already very impressive like it is.

I would suggest that you keep taking pictures. This is phenomenal. You've made great use of black-and-white coloration to emphasize the lighting in this scene, and the composition is just brilliant -- the way the light spills through the arch makes it look like a portal to another dimension. Plus there's the bright white clouds, the dark abstract shadows, the sleek shades of gray . . . I could go on forever. This is genius.
