Description

I did this for a DAZ forum message in a FVCS (Flight Vehicle Construction Set) thread. Somebody mentioned about how litle used (or useful) one of the cockpits is (cockpit4) and so people then had fun making stuff that included cockpit 4. I did the main bulk of this flying craft in about 15-20 minutes but all-up it took a couple of hours mainly due to fiddly stuff like balancing up things that appears on each side of the ship (wings and it's guns). I actually wrote the 'alternate universe' text during renders. ;-) : - Created 13-Sept-2006 - Aircraft put together and rendered in Poser 6 just using Davorama's "Flight Vehicle Construction Set" (FVCS) http://www.seekergamingsystems.com/ - Postwork montaging and background done in PS. : It's well past the time for me to go to bed! G'night all. Z. ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- After the escape of Adolf Hitler in 1945 and the subsequent establishment of the New Reichland in South America, a new global war promptly began after the last one much to the dismay of the free world. Russsia, smashed beyond immediate recovery after the disasterous consecutive defeats at Stalingrad, Moscow, and East Berlin could offer little military assistance and so it was left to the Alliance to continue the weary fight against the New Axis. STN-K1 Pictured here is the Australian STN-K1 (or "Stinker") in it's normal role as a carrier of the Sub-Atomo bomb, a gliding bomb with reduced atomic explosive. A single devastating weapon that is used to reduce enemy numbers on a battlefield, most often during tank battles. Although not its official name, the Stinker earned it's nickname somewhat from the model designation but more rightly from the organic fuel-mix used and the subsequent pungent vapours that sometimes seeped into the type-4 cockpit during flight. In some cases Australian pilots also refer to it as the "Dutch Oven". The STN-K1 is armoured (and radiation shielded), exceedingly fast and whilst not quite as maneuverable as a fighter whilst carrying it's single bomb payload, once discharged of it's destructive cargo the STN-K1 is a superb flying craft easily able to hold it's own against nimble enemy planes. The STN-K1 is powered by two huge push-pull engines and as a result it generates large amounts of heat which has to be dissipated by the various heatsink fins located about it's structure. The propellor tips are also gas-assisted to achieve higher rotation rates leading to the famous STN-K1 growling sound when activated. Flying the STN-K1 is not for the fainthearted. Because of it's great weight it's launched from a disposable rocket sled and it has no actual landing gear. To land the STN-K1 requires considerable skill and the ability of the pilot to correctly position him or herself to be captured on the purpose-built landing cradle mounted upon a carraige on a straight stretch of railway. Although clumsy to retrieve from flight most pilots are eager to resupply their craft and return to the air to continue the unique exhilarating flying experience of the STN-K1 and to further the fight against the New Axis on all fronts. The specifications and information described above have been cleared by the Censors General Department. - Certificate 20060913-2323, September 1947. ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
