Well.. here is my first attemped.. did a trace of a photograph.. just lines as you see.. and then just played around a lot. lol.

Seeing as my first try looked like a flying spaghetti monster this is pretty good!! Keep at it, it only improves from here :o)

Tracing the image is def. the best way to go because it allows you to focus on the tones and shades that make up the image rather than all the lines that go to make it up. This will pay dividends in the future. Keep it up. P.S. It's way better than my first image.
