Looks good. But try for some atmospheric lighting. Maybe start with pitch black, and add a single light at the center of the "earth beam"... get some long brooding shadows.

nice...but the platform needs some sort of texture. :)

wow i like. personally (this is just me... i love lightning generators etc..) i think it'd look cooler with lightning or electrical shafts coming down with that goo the earth is held in. That might be overkill, but just a suggestion. Must say it's great though. Love the alien!
