It sits a bit deeper when just floating. On plane it might find this but still needs at least the rudder and propellor in the water. Long before the Russian rivercraft influenced pickle fork and tunnel hull forms the sponsons gave a three point stance to the post Gar Wood deep hull era. Go look as it comes up to the dokc how it has almost no freeboard compared to it's bow wake. Those inboards of the 30's were hea-ev-y!
