Description

Hi gang! smile.gif Just another butty-shot i know...i know. But i kinda thought the POV was special enough for me to share it with anyone who might appriciate these furry things. Personally i used to like butterflies. I used to think they were pretty....that was untill i got my macrolens. Now as i can see all the details on their nasty little bodies, i consider them no prettier than a stinkin

I like this POV, Andreas. And the blurred wings really convey the action and movement. Those are lovely flowers, btw. But I can't agree with you about them not being beautiful. :) He looks, at that angle, like a dive bomber coming in, lol. A very pretty composition.

Reminds me of monster movies of the 40's and 50's, where (Atomically mutated)insects ravage small desert towns!!! Then the town all pitches in, to gather 40 tons of sugar, to pour into a pond, to draw the giant butterfly away from the town...Huh? Where was I going with this? Fabulous macro Andreas!! Have a super weekend!

Wow, I do not tend to think of butterflies as marauding creatures, but perhaps they are, from a flower's perspective. Unusual POV and very cool!

I know, I know... a macro lens sometimes reveals what otherwise stays hidden.. and in case of the butty I agree with you, but I keep thinking they are beautiful too. Their wings are so different from most moths that I think they deserve a special place in our hearts..

Excellent shot. I recently photographed a Monarch, and it sure wasn't pretty up close: the shaggy hair, the fuzzy abdomen, the probiscus tongy thing! The wings sure are beautiful though. This pic looks like it should have tiny twin Japanese girls on it's back saying Moth-a-ruh! (I know, I know, it's not a moth).
