Description

I got a call from a friend of mine that he had a butterfly in his garden and asked me to come and identify it.. We thrashed around among the nettles before it oblidged in coming into his garden.. I was surprised to see something I thought to be a new species in the British isles.. I had to get my books out when I got back from taking a few shots, and realized it must have escaped from a private collection or Butterfly house as it is a native of Australia

Fantastic! How lucky you are to have gotten a photograph of it like that. Not that you'll likely bump into another anytime soon! Don't you get goose bumps when that happens? Great shot!

If it flew in from Australia, it would have to be on a Boeing I suspect...:) Beautiful capture!

Won't be long and it will take over. Has a bit of the look of a Navy hulk though. Very disciplined feeler antennas.
