Description

...the local scout girl says to the worn out knight. "We must be at the castle by sunset. The trolls come out mostly at night, but I sense them already. They're close and ready to get out. - Nice to see that you have your sword ready. I know that you've been riding for days, but come on, just a few more miles..." ************ I've had this as an almost finished scene for a while, but I got annoyed with it because of some stupid problems with positioning the trolls inside the cave. Well, I dug it out, finished it, and here it is. Still not too happy about the "stretched" texture on the cave ceiling, though :) Vue5I, Poser, Onyxtree and Photoshop for adjustments and some corrections on the Poser characters. Castle by rodluc2000 - thanks a lot! Some 4 hrs render in "Broadcast" with Global Illumination. Hope you like this even though it's not exactly my usual stuff. Have a nice day - Lars

The trees and terrain work are great! but the trolls are in the view distance of the two, so the story wouldn't hold for real. The cave is a bit jagged for my taste... I know those are a lot of crits, but the image has potential:)

The posing is first class along with the atmo and ecosystem, stalkeron has a point, but judging purely on technical rather than reality this is an impressive render, a great scene, like a screen shot out of LOTR.

Thanks for your comments so far. Of course "stalkeron" is right, both about the cave being a bit jagged, could be painted away, but I decided not to, I'm a bit fed up with this scene, and about the "story" which is just a quick "excuse" for making this which in fact is much more about compostion, tree design and ecosystem work than producing a fairytale - oh, but wait... you didn't notice? The trolls blend very well with the surroundings unless you see them as silhouettes as in this picture :)

I like it. The image tells a story. If you like those type of images, you should check out www.mernac.com. I like how you have several different scenes going on all at once, the Gnomes in the foregrounds, then the adventurers, the wondeful wooded area and way in the back the castle they come form. Iy is a well thought our scene - Rick

I feel a tense atmosphere. I imagined a lot of stories went before and after the scene. Terrific work!

As usual, technically perfect, but sorry, I'm not an "amateur" for this king of scene. I prefer Bigbraader's landscapes without any people.

You know, there is so much that is good in this image, I didn't notice the texture smear/stretch until you mentioned it. We are always our own toughest judge. Luckily, this is in a dimly lit and out of the way area. It really doesn't diminish the wonderful picture.
